Martin Garrix Gears Up for an Exclusive Japan-Only Release Ahead of EDC—‘The Martin Garrix Collection’

By April 7, 2017 All

At the tender age of 20, Martin Garrix has enjoyed a clutch of Beatport chart-ers, launched his own record label, and perhaps most impressively, was named the world’s top DJ last year in DJ Mag’s annual reader poll.

It’s no surprise that Martin Garrix is a big fan of Japan, and Japan is a big fan of Martin Garrix. In celebration of bringing Electric Daisy Carnival to Zozo Marine Stadium & Makuhari Beach Park in Japan, Garrix has put together a special album (available only in Japan), titled The Martin Garrix Collection, which will hit iTunes on Friday, April 21. Preorders are available here.

Fifteen tracks in all, the album features Garrix’s hit single “Scared to Be Lonely,” along with a special stripped-down acoustic version of the same tune that was recorded at the prestigious AIR Studios in London. With Dua Lipa providing ethereal vocals, as well as a grand orchestra, the acoustic version of “Scared to Be Lonely” perfectly illustrates Garrix’s evolving production prowess. Also making news today, Garrix returns to his big-room form with his highly anticipated single “Byte,” in collaboration with newcomer Brooks, via STMPD RCRDS. Expect high-energy synths and a euphoric beat.

Bonus: When you preorder The Martin Garrix Collection, “Scared to Be Lonely” (Acoustic Version) is immediately available for listening.
